DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Nurse Associate works unsupervised, within their scope of professional practice to deliver appropriate care to patients attending the outpatient department The Nurse Associate Nurse works within clearly defined protocols and professional guidelines. The Nurse manages their own caseload in the form of a clinic. Undertakes baseline observations of Height, weight, Blood pressure, pulse and temperature Undertakes phlebotomy, Glucometer readings, MRSA swabs and ECG investigations as required. Plans and implements appropriate care following the assessment. Frequently required to assist patients with moving and handling from chair to couch, chair to scales etc. Undertakes the onward referral of patients following assessment if required e.g. Health Promotion team, district nurse Writes reports, record observations and maintain patient records which detail actions and decisions made. Keep patients and carers informed when appropriate, maintaining patient confidentiality. Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and other service providers; to ensure care is patient centred, effective and efficient. Maintain a professional approach to staff, patients, visitors and other colleagues. Support Medical Staff in clinics
