We're seeking an experienced and qualified Early Years Nursery Manager to join the management team at smaller setting nursery on the edge of Hale (Altrincham) village. We are looking for an individual with experience in Nursery Management, who is enthusiastic about providing the highest standards and care and education for children and their families.
There is on site parking and this role is based on a full-time permanent basis , all year round (except the setting is always closed on Christmas Eve and shut on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas period). As a Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual education and care for all children in the nursery. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Leading a team of dedicated staff members to provide exceptional care and early learning experiences for children.
Overseeing day-to-day operations, including quality improvement, marketing, and administration.
To act as the designated safeguarding lead, ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all children, adhering to safeguarding principles and procedures.
Collaborating with the Deputy Manager to maintain a smoothly running nursery.
Leading and directing the nursery team, including allocating responsibilities and supporting individual development.
Building strong partnerships with parents and carers to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Early Years practice, legislation, and the Early Years Foundation Stage, including SEND, OFSTED, and Health and Safety, to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance.
Playing a vital role in the nursery's marketing and business development activities.
Ability to work effectively alongside the Deputy Manager and Nursery Directors.
Monitor staff performance across the entire nursery and work with our in-house recruitment team on the recruitment and induction of new staff members.
To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, good practice, nursery policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience; the ideal candidate should have:
A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare/early years education. Higher qualifications such as EYT/EYP would be advantageous, but not essential.
A minimum of 3 years of childcare experience.
A minimum of 2 years of leadership/management experience within a nursery/childcare environment.
A deep understanding of EYFS across all age groups and knowledge of statutory legislation.
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures.
Previous experience in a SENDCo role ideally supported by relevant qualifications.
Experience in successfully navigating OFSTED inspections, including preparation and on the day, demonstrating your ability to maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Liaising with and working in partnership with the Local Authority, and other regulatory bodies including Ofsted.
