The shift pattern for this position is 8.30am to 4.30pm.
We are delighted to welcome applications from candidates seeking to develop their skills within the field of children& families Health Visiting service. We are committed to supporting and developing our staff, facilities and services to provide the highest standard of care. We currently have one permanent 37.5 hour community nursery nurse post within the North East locality of Glasgow City HSCP.
The successful post holder will support the Health Visiting teams to provide an accessible, culturally sensitive, safe, person centred & effective service for children & families in the community. The delegated supporting activities will be facilitated & supervised, by the Health visitor. The post provides an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in children and family’s lives and to work in a dynamic environment. We are committed to fully inducting our staff and to providing them with various training and shadowing opportunities within the multi-agency team.
The health visiting service operates an open access service to families and communities within home, community and primary care settings. To promote a healthy lifestyle within the local population giving particular attention to the identified health needs of children 0-5 years, school age, young people and vulnerable families. To address inequalities in health through participation, collaboration, empowerment and primary care. The post holder will participate in health improvement activities as delegated by the health visitor such as parenting support using Triple P/Stepping stones, sleep support, play and family support including supporting children with suspected/diagnosed ASD.
The post holder will hold an SVQ 3, HNC in child care or NNEB equivalent and will support the health visitor in delivering care to children, young people and Families within the caseload. Minimum requirements of the role,
Essential
- SVQ 3, HNC in child care or NNEB equivalent
- Minimum of two years working with children.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- IT skills – word, email, teams, internet, EMIS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work as part of the health visiting team and on own initiative.
- Experience working with children and Families.
Desirable
- Previous experience in primary care/community/paediatric setting
- Car driver
