Job description

Darul Madinah, an Islamic schooling system with centres throughout the UK, is looking to recruit a Nursery Practitioner for the new Darul Madinah Nursery. We are an OFSTED regulated nursery. We deliver the EYFS (key stage early learning stage) and the basic understanding Islamic curriculum to your child. We offer a vibrant mix of cultures where every child is welcomed and respected regardless of faith but rather as an individual, which promotes community cohesion. The Role:
• To support the teaching staff in the day-to-day running of Darul Madinah Nursery.
• To assist the children in different aspects of their daily lives, through social, emotional, educational, and practical interaction, nurturing, and guidance
• To contribute to the observation and EYFS assessment records of the children’s development.
• To help oversee, maintain, and organise a clean, tidy, child-friendly environment.
• To supervise activities, such as messy play, crafts, cooking, reading, and outdoor/physical pursuits.
• To assist with children’s personal hygiene, toileting, and social skills training.
• To share in the general care, supervision, and learning of the children during the session, both indoors and outdoors.
• Working with any health and social care professionals, where necessary, and undertaking any relevant admin/paperwork
• To ensure that that the ethos of the school is implemented, by providing an Islamic upbringing within the setting
• Responsible for key children and their learning journals.
• To work closely with the staff to contribute to the management of the pupils’ positive behavior.
• To develop good relationships with children, parents, and other professionals.
• To help the teacher supervise the groups of children on educational visits.
• To attend any staff training sessions that would be relevant or helpful to the duties listed.
• To be aware of school procedures and follow school policies, including Safeguarding Children.
• To be aware of confidential issues and to keep confidence appropriately.
• To contribute to the overall ethos, aims, and work of the school
• To carry out other duties which may from time to time reasonably be required within the general level of responsibility of the post.
• To undertake such duties as may be reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
• To be committed to play a full part as a member of a team
• To undergo any training and development relevant to the satisfactory performance of the job, as required.
Essential requirements
• GCSE’s (preferred)
• Should have EYTS (preferred)
• CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education (preferred)
• BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care (preferred)
• Learning and development or an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (preferred)
• Experience working in a school or educational setting
• Great collaboration and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills
• A positive, empathetic, and loving attitude
Desirable Skills
• Familiarity with the organisation
• Good interpersonal skills, courteous and friendly manners

Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Hours of work: Part-time/Full-time with flexible option.
Pay: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Start Date: As soon as an enhanced DBS is received, and Mandatory online modules have been completed by the candidate.
