About the Role
We are seeking level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioners to join our expanding Nursery at Downsend School. You will ideally be experienced working with under 2s, to join our fantastic, supportive school and to help us shape and create our new 0-2 provision
The roles we have available are:
- A full time 52 week position
- A Term-Time role (34.8 Weeks)
- Early Years Teaching Assistant
The roles are 5 days a week, with hours to be confirmed but within 7.45am until 6.00pm daily to ensure cover for our wraparound care.
Hours can be negotiated but do need to include an early start and/or late finish. Part-time work applications (either 2 or 3 days a week) are welcomed.
What you will be doing:
You will be joining the team as an Early Years Practitioner to assist in the preparation and delivery of high quality education in a safe and caring environment, including serving pupils refreshments, reading with children, planning and delivering high quality learning activities and environments.
- Supporting a learning culture that encourages pupils to foster a love of learning. Showing compassion, empathy and due diligence to all pupil's safety and wellbeing.
- Creating stimulating learning environments, both inside and outside the classroom, that enable children to make excellent progress.
- Working with the nursery leaders and all early Years Practitioners to plan, prepare, deliver exciting and engaging activities within one of the two nursery age ranges.
- Using assessments of key children to feed into the planning in the classroom. Identifying key children's needs and setting realistic and challenging next steps that are shared with parents every half term
- TERM TIME - PART TIME - FULL TIME - PERMANENT

Who we are looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 or above
- Experience of working in a Nursery or School setting
- Knowledge and understanding of current EYFS framework for teaching and assessment
- Able to demonstrate an awareness and understanding of data protection and confidentiality within the nursery setting
- Competent in using ICT in the classroom and for everyday activities such as email.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
