Blackburn Community Mental Health Team are seeking to appoint a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join their multi-disciplinary team.
This post provides the opportunity for a forward thinking and experienced individual to develop and implement safe, sound and supportive services that embrace the provision of holistic care. With a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary working and the principles laid out in the Recovery Model, you will need to be an innovative thinker and be able to form effective relationships.
You must be a registered Nursing Associate, with excellent leadership and clinical skills. You will also need to have a working knowledge of community services, risk assessment and management, and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and well-being.
You will be a Nursing Associate working within a multidisciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties.
As a Band 4 Nursing Associate within the team’ you will be regularly supported and supervised by a nominated Nurse and you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.

You will be required to undertake the administration of medications; however, these will not include medications deemed as high risk.
You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.
You will provide support to the nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.
You will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
You will be required to offer clinical and managerial leadership to Health Care Support Workers as part of your role within the team. You may be required to take on tasks that require you to operate electronic staffing record systems such as PDR/supervision.
You will maintain a positive and open attitude towards organisational change and service development.
You will work flexibly to meet the needs of the wider network.
To move clinical areas at either short notice or no notice in order to meet the changing needs of the service.
To participate in the process of internal rotation as and when required.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
