The Great Western Hospital NHS Trust are looking to recruit an Occupational Health Clinic Nurse.
To work within a multidisciplinary team of OH specialist and Clinic Nurses, physiotherapists, OH physicians, Health and Wellbeing Adviser, administrative team and Mental Health nurse/practitioners in supporting clients with health issues impacting on their working and personal life.

1. To undertake venepuncture after appropriate training, assessment and
experience in relation to a variety of clinical/client needs.
2. To vaccinate employees and provide an ongoing immunisation programme for all health care workers who are at risk of exposure to pathogens during the course of their work.
3. To support and promote the annual seasonal (influenza) immunisation
programme to all healthcare employees.
4. To support the management of Sharps/Contamination Injuries and advise employees following sharps/contamination injury or bodily fluid exposure,
undertaking a risk assessment and advising on the appropriate action in line with Trust policy and department protocols.
5. To participate in health surveillance programmes (spirometry, HAVs,
skin/dermatitis surveillance) after appropriate training, in line with HSE
regulations, Trust Policies and department processes and report health
surveillance findings to the appropriate clinician ie. OH Specialist Nurse or OH Physician.
6. To support contact tracing for communicable diseases.
7. To carry out pre-placement screening of Employment Medical Questionnaires (EMQs) under the supervision of a Specialist OH Nurse, OH Manager or Consultant Occupational Health Physician.
8. Empower employees to take responsibility for their health, well-being, and lifestyle.
9. To record all clinical outcomes and observations, tests, or research results on the OH system Cority and in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
10. To demonstrate IT skills enabling access to relevant information. i.e.,
management, clinical, and external.
11. To ensure regular maintenance of equipment, enabling safe use by clinicians.
12. To be responsible for the ordering and maintaining of stock supplies to ensure safe storage, preparation, and administration of vaccines in accordance with department processes, Trust policies and national guidance.
13. To practice high standards of client care in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings as business/client needs require.
14. Ability to deal with distressed clients who present or phone the department.
15. Although based at GWH, travel to other sites may be required so a valid UK driving licence is essential. A pool car will be available if necessary.
