Calderdale Council’s Accessible Homes Agency provide major and minor adaptations to people’s homes to improve access into and around the property and to promote independence. We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapists to work for 12 months within the team alongside our permanent Occupational Therapist, specifically involved in monitoring people on our Disabled Facilities Grant waiting list for adaptations to ensure they are waiting safely, re-assessing existing applicants where necessary and assessing for relocation to more suitable accessible properties. The post will mainly deal with adult adaptations but there may be scope to work with some children’s adaptations. The post is particularly suitable for experienced therapists.
While the post will be based within the Accessible Homes Agency, there may also be scope for experience of rotation within a range of different Occupational Therapy areas and settings including: The front door triage team, equipment and adaptations, assistive technology team, community led support, discharge to assess and assessment bed settings, care package reviews. There will be oversight and professional supervision from the Principal OT and Occupational Therapist Advanced Practitioners to ensure that appropriate CPD and professional development in line with an OT role are adhered to.
