We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to become a valuable member of the Review Team in our Adult Social Care directorate at Reading Borough Council. Review Team collaborates closely with other teams engaged in the provision of Adult Social Care. Our main objective is to undertake Care Act reviews for people who receive services through Adult Social Care. About the Role:
You will be part of a friendly and supportive team and work alongside Social Worker and Social Care Coordinator colleagues reviewing adults with a broad range of needs.
You will hold a varied caseload and contribute to the team performance and positive outcomes for our residents.
Using a strengths-based approach and your OT skill set you will support individuals to find solutions, promote wellbeing and healthy occupations through a variety of interventions including provision of equipment, adaptations, moving and handling, goal planning. You will work closely with care providers, Housing Services and Health colleagues. In addition we review OT provided equipment and this will form part of your role.
You will work within the legal framework provided by statute, guidance, policies, and procedures.
You will need to have:
- A degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered with HCPC
- Community experience is helpful but not essential
