An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant in Adult Social Care at Swindon Borough Council. You will be part of a busy, supportive multiskilled team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Hearing and Vision practitioners, Social Workers and Assistant Care Managers.
As a team we provide support to vulnerable adults who may have a variety of physical or sensory impairments, learning disability or mental health conditions. Whilst also considering the needs of carers within a community setting.
Your next role
You will use your effective communication skills to undertake strength-based occupational therapy practice with the aim of supporting our clients to live as independently as possible in the community by providing where appropriate suitable equipment, advice and minor and major adaptations. You will be working with and alongside Occupational Therapists.

The post involves working in a range of settings, therefore a full driver’s licence and access to a car for use at work, or ability to attend site visits is required.
An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this position.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
