The Company
We offer full range of energy assessment services for both domestic and commercial buildings, ranging from Energy Performance Certificates to Thermal Modelling of large and complex commercial buildings. We also carry out the associated building testing, such as air tightness testing, extract testing and sound testing. We carry out work from planning stage, through design & building regulations and at completion to satisfy various legislative and customer requirements. All our assessors are fully qualified and accredited by several approved bodies, while our graduates and trainees can expect multiple professional qualifications in areas they have particular interest in.
The Role
As a result of continuous growth, we are looking to recruit a person with interest in the sustainability area and strong motivation to learn. As a OCDEA you will be responsible for a wide range sustainability and Building Regulations assessments in the built environment. This will primarily involve assessing new build dwellings in SAP software. The successful candidate will be also responsible for managing photographic evidence for Part L requirements. This junior role will eventually transform into Energy Assessor role and leading to an excellent career prospect with knowledge in professional software packages.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate will be the one who thrives on a challenge and a variety of work, a person who will want to continually learn and develop skills to do the job to their best ability. Requirements for the role include:
· Technical minded with analytical thinking skills,
· Proficient with computing software, the role will primarly be aimed at drawing models in SketchUp and DesignBuilder,
· Maths comprehension, as role involves carrying out calculations,
· Knowledge and comprehension of science and technology,
· to be thorough and pay attention to detail,
· A passion for sustainability, environmental management, and carbon reduction,
· Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills,
· ability to work in a team environment and independently,
· friendly, ambitious, and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.
Hours of work: Mon-Thu 8:30 – 5:30 Friday 9:00 – 5:00
Location: Melton Mowbray (must be able to commute daily)
Salary: Starting salary depending on qualifications.
