OIC RTA File handler

My client is a leading law firm with a strong reputation and are offering a fantastic opportunity for paralegals to join their growing Official Injury Claim department.

Role

My client is seeking talented OIC claims handlers with at least 1 to 2 years claims handling experience within the OIC claims portal. The right candidate will work independently and as part of a team to deliver a high-quality service with a key focus on progressing claims and delivering exceptional customer service. They would also welcome applicants who have first response portal team experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibility for a manageable caseload of 150–200 Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firm’s Case Management System (Proclaim) and using the agreed internal procedures and practices.
To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations
To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks.
To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs and settlements without compromising the firm’s integrity.
To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed.
Perform to a high level in a target orientated environment.
To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.
The role is full time and office based.

Experience & Knowledge
Knowledge and experience of RTA Personal Injury cases
Capable of running RTA Personal Injury cases from cradle to grave
Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
Good time management and organisational skills
Ability to build relationships with clients
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Excellent attention to detail
