Are you an experienced Support Worker looking to make a change to the lives of Older Prisoners?
Is so, BRC are working in partnership with a national Charity who are recruiting for a Older Prisoner Support Worker. They aspire to be a leader in the delivery of support for older people who are within the criminal justice system; they want to bring together the housing, health, and social care sectors. As an Older Prisoner Support Worker, you will play a vital part in the delivery of a high-performance health and wellbeing service promoting activities which can reduce re-offending.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a timetable of events and promoting this prison wide in order to engage prisoners with healthy habits. A close working relationship will be required with the management team, collecting appropriate monitoring and evaluative information. Strict daily tasks are to be carried out, in accordance with the Charities and wider prisons regulations.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be confident in your ability to work alone in accordance with the requirements of the service; this means working within a prison setting. You will be able to build and maintain relationships with additional organisations to provide training sessions, wellbeing sessions, or for guest speakers. You should have experience of giving practical advice and skills to vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will have expertise in working with vulnerable older adults.
