Provide clinical expertise at an advanced practice level within the specialist area of oncology treatment. Ensuring the co-ordination of patient care across the oncology service in conjunction with the multi-professional team to ensure delivery of a seamless service and timely onward referral to other professionals and agencies as appropriate.Lead the development, management and delivery of an holistic, safe and effective person centred service, which meets national, regional and local requirements for patients with cancer, supporting them and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment and on to survivor-ship or palliationAct as the key worker when appropriate or work in partnership with the key worker for patients undergoing chemo treatment, working in partnership with the tumour specific speciality team, Multidisciplinary Teams and specific Clinical Nurse Specialists.Be expected to contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research, service improvement and audit as well as developing practice in others.Support the General Manager and exercise leadership in implementing Modernisation and Reform of Oncology Services for cancer patients and the development of the nursing service to achieve person centred care and enhance the patient experienceEstablish and deliver NMP clinics and nurse-led review clinics and where required implement holistic needs assessments (HNAs)Work across Trust services and boundaries, both internal and external.Provide effective leadership and management, ensuring resources are utilised effectively and efficiently, nursing practice is maintained to the optimum standard and that the educational needs of staff are met where appropriate..
