Online English Tutor

We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as an online tutor in the following areas:

• English 11+/13+ Exam Practice
• Key Stage 2 & 3
• GCSE English Language & Literature
• Essay Writing/Readers Club
• *Please note: this is NOT an EFL or second-language teaching post

As an online tutor, you will teach students following UK schools’ curriculum and teaching approach. We have opportunities for 1-to-1 tutorial sessions, and small groups (up to six students). Classes are normally 1 hour, plus preparation time and assignment marking. This is a remote working, part-time position, allowing you to work flexibly from home.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct engaging and interactive online tutoring sessions focused upon British English subject curriculum.
• Create personalized lesson plans and learning materials tailored to students’ academic needs and goals.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve and accelerate their learning.
• Prepare your own lesson material for each session.
• Grade student assignment works, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Utilize digital teaching and learning technologies such as Zoom, Google Drive, and various social networking platforms to deliver effective online learning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in English, or a related field (or currently studying as an undergraduate or postgraduate major in English).
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity and comfort with digital teaching and learning technology, including Zoom, Google Drive, and SNS platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students in an online learning environment.
• Flexibility with working hours to accommodate students' schedules, with students calling in from various time-zones.
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet work environment.
• Applicants must reside within the UK, or Ireland.

Remittance & Benefits

• Hourly rate of 20GBP & upwards - depending on experience & qualifications.
• Raising to 70GBP per hour for Group Lessons.
• One-to-one tutorial sessions, and/or small groups.
• Flexible working arrangements.
