About Us: Kingfisher School in Redditch is an SEMH school providing bespoke learning for a range of pupils including being dedicated to supporting students who are unable to attend school or require additional academic assistance. We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Full-Time Online Tutor.
Job Description: As a Full-Time Online Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering group and individual tutoring sessions via Teams to students ranging from Key Stage 2 (KS2) to Key Stage 5 (KS5). The role will involve teaching core subjects as well as some ASDAN topics. You will play a vital role in supporting students who are unable to attend school full-time due to various reasons.
Responsibilities:
1. Online Tutoring Sessions:
- Conduct interactive and engaging group and individual tutoring sessions over Teams.
- Provide instruction in core subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities.
- Cover ASDAN topics as required, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
2. Curriculum Delivery:
- Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum and ASDAN requirements.
- Tailor teaching materials and resources to accommodate students' academic levels and learning styles.
3. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Assess students' academic progress through regular evaluations and assignments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development.
4. Individualised Support:
- Provide additional support and guidance to students who require extra assistance in understanding concepts or completing tasks.
5. Parental Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to discuss students' progress and address any concerns.
6. Student Progress Reporting:
- Monitor and report on the academic progress and well-being of assigned students.
7. Annual Review Process:
- Participate in the annual review process for students, providing input on their academic achievements, goals, and areas for improvement.
8. Communication:
- Maintain regular and ongoing communication with the Deputy Head of Centre, Curriculum Lead, and other relevant stakeholders regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure coordinated support for students and alignment with curriculum objectives.
9. Safeguarding Compliance:
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately to the designated safeguarding officer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience in Online Tutoring or teaching is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in core subjects and familiarity with the national curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage students in virtual learning environments.
- Experience in working with pupils with SEMH needs
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
