Onshore Wind Developer/Analyst

FINTEC recruit is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our client’s team as a Renewable Onshore Wind Developer/Analyst. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the UK CEO and directors in managing the development of renewable projects, with a primary focus on wind repowering, windfarm extensions, greenfield projects, battery storage, and hydrogen initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial and financial input to acquisitions and partnership proposals, as well as developing and maintaining comprehensive financial models for projects.  This is a full time role, salary /rate negotiable by experience and the company office is based in Edinburgh.  There is hybrid working on offer.  There will be travel with the role in visiting stakeholders and clients.  Negotiable contract rate with a future prospect of permanency and share options.

Responsibilities:

• Promote the company’s existing and new project developments and investments.
• Identify and pursue new investment opportunities in Onshore Wind, hydrogen, and other clean energies.
• Motivate the investment mandate and monitor and drive project developments against the agreed mandate.
• Oversee project budgets and programs from initial and early development stages to completed investments and exit.
• Evaluate project opportunities (including technical considerations) and propose development strategies.
• Report to the CEO and board on performance and investment risk across the portfolio.
• Liaise with in-house financial analysts to assess project risks and returns.
• Liaise with external advisors to assess terms in agreements with partners, landowners, and service providers.
• Work with internal and external advisors to complete transactions and take projects through to FID (Final Investment Decision).
• Support the CEO in relationship management, including interactions with landowners, asset owners, stakeholders in planning processes, advisors, regulators, grid, and local distribution companies.

Skills and Experience Requiredfor the Renewable Onshore Wind Developer/Analyst :

• Previous experience in financial analysis within the UK Onshore Wind energy sector is essential.
• Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to work collaboratively in a small team.
• In-depth understanding of the UK renewables energy market.
• Strong report writing, communication, and project management skills.
• A keen appreciation of value drivers in the energy sector, including regulation, pricing, financing, technologies, and supply lines.
• Proven track record of successful project development.
• Ability to engage at all levels with partners, advisors, regulators, etc.
• Knowledge of various types of energy projects and investment structures.
• Degree in a relevant discipline (economics, engineering, finance).
