Operational Risk Analyst | S2 | Risk Country: United Kingdom

We’re looking for an Operation Risk Analyst to join us in the Operational Risk Resilience & Control (ORRC) Division, specifically the Capital, Events and Losses team which is part of the second line of defence.

As the Operation Risk Analyst, you’ll assist in the effective reporting of the Operational Risk events profile for Santander UK and support the management of the Operational Risk Scenario programme.

You’ll act as a subject matter expert on operational events and the scenario programme, acting as a key point of contact for colleagues across the three lines of defence, as well as supporting one of the Operational Risk Managers within the team on the delivery of scenario programme and the day to day oversight of the operational incidents.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for operational events and scenarios across the ring-fenced bank.

  • Producing valuable insights to senior leaders to allow for risk-based decisions.

  • Promoting and encourages good culture and behaviours personally and across the Team, in line with I AM Risk.

  • Investigating issues through the eyes of other people, particularly the customer.

  • Developing good working relationships with key stakeholders across the bank and is respectful of others.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in Operational Risk management and/or control function in risk areas that are relevant for risk management.

  • Excellent analytical skills when working with data, including excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUPs & Pivot tables)

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Existing Operational Risk experience and qualifications

  • Ability to develop good working relationships with key stakeholders across the bank.

  • Experience in governance and control frameworks.

This role is based in Milton Keynes, and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.
