We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us in the role of Operational Support (Janitor) within the School of Medicine. Based in Ninewells Hospital, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals, the School of Medicine provides outstanding medical education and training supported by world class research facilities.
The School covers an extremely large footprint consisting of laboratories, teaching rooms, lecture theatres and offices. The postholder will work within a small team delivering essential service support across the school to enable the continuation of research and teaching excellence.
Your priorities will include:
- Delivery of mail and parcels throughout the School
- Disposal of waste including clinical, confidential and sharps
- Filling of pressurised Liquid Nitrogen vessels and top up Dewars
- Relocate and/or dispose of equipment and furniture
- Respond to fire alarms and meet with the Fire Brigade when required.
Who we're looking for:
- You will have good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with people at all levels
- Enthusiastic self-starter
- Team player with a proactive approach, able to balance competing priorities under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of service
- Basic level of IT skills including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel This post is permanent
