In our Professional Support Service, you'll play a vital role, supporting Children’s Services on an administrative basis, you'll contribute significantly to Children’s Services, ensuring positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families. What is the job role?

Come and join us at an exciting time and be part of the Professional Support Service’s journey – a service area integral to working with colleagues at all levels across Children’s Services, to contribute to positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable Children and Families across the City. 

In this role you will be working alongside the Placements Officers and Placements Manager to provide professional support to the Children's Placements Team. This will involve a high volume of finance support, including recording and processing invoices. Also processing relevant documents within set deadlines and liaising with internal departments, external agencies, health teams and other Local Authorities when Children's Placements are made. 

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a self-starter and works well on their own. 
  • Has strong organisational and time management skills
  • Thrives in a busy and diverse environment
  • Has great attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has experience with finance work
  • Has good IT skills
