A leading manufacturer in LED technology, from retrofittable LED lamps to luminaires and controls require a self-motivated, driven Operations / Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimise the, purchasing, logistics, and warehouse function of their business ensuring that it keeps pace with the needs of a rapidly evolving technology business.
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of the purchasing function, managing inventory while forecasting levels of demand and price.
- Negotiate and agree pricing, contracts and rebates while purchasing goods and ensuring cost saving strategies are in place and suppliers performance targets are met.
- Keeping stock control systems up to date ensuring stock accuracy levels.
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Working with the warehouse team to ensure stock levels are accurate.
Requirements:
- Solid operations background, preferably in a similar role within a similar industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of warehouse management, purchasing, production operations, inventory management and forecasting.
- Ability to take initiative to predict and understand trends of required inventory, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Strong commercial acumen, enabling effective decision-making and strategic planning, negotiation, and cost-effective purchasing.
- A commitment to providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction, ensuring that the Ops function continues to meet and exceed expectations.
- Excellent oral, written, numeracy and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
