The Operations Assistant (Supply Chain) position is challenging, rewarding and requires a high level of commitment. Training will be provided in house by existing members of the Operations team, though purchasing knowledge and/or previous experience within the shipping/transportation or freight is beneficial.The Role - Operations Assistant (Supply Chain)* Control and management of suppliers in the UK, USA and Europe for Transport, Shipping, Rail, Barge and depot* Communication with all suppliers/customers* Costing of all operational activities* Updating of in-house Management/IT systems* Working principally with the Operations Manager, with additional supervision roles within the small Operations TeamThe Person - Operations Assistant (Supply Chain)* Will have excellent communication and organisational skills* Team player to support the smooth running of operations* Requires a substantial amount of concentration and accuracy and an ability to prioritise and use own initiative is essential in their role* Will have good IT literacy – a good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office is essential* Purchasing knowledge* Previous experience within the shipping/transportation or freight forwarding industry would have an advantage but is not essentialWhy should you apply for the Operations Assistant (Supply Chain) role?* Opportunity to be part of a highly successful, rapidly expanding family run business* Varied and interesting role with the opportunity to develop your skills and have greater involvement* Competitive salary and benefits packageThe CompanyOur client is a specialist manufacturing company who mould bespoke composite components, sitting strongly within some of the top competitive sectors of the manufacturing world.
