Contract Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent
Location: Durham University International Study Centre 
Salary: circa £25,000 per annum
The Operations Coordinator is a key role within the Student Experience Team, the post holder will support the day-to-day running of Durham University International Study Centre from an operational perspective.
This is a varied role that involves providing general administrative duties for the International Study Centre, including supporting with HR and financial administration, acting as a health and safety coordinator, facilities management and overseeing the smooth running of the student helpdesk.
This role requires flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting both staff and students. If you are a detail-oriented team player with strong organisational skills, we would love to hear from you.
ABOUT THE ROLE 
The role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including:

  • HR and Recruitment: Assisting with HR processes, coordinating interviews, maintaining records, and liaising with Head Office HR.
  • Facilities and Project Management: Managing asset registers, building records, and maintenance requests.
  • Health and Safety: Acting as the Centre Health and Safety Coordinator, conducting DSE assessments, and serving as a Fire Warden & First Aider.
  • Senior Leadership Support: Providing administrative support, such as minute-taking for meetings.
  • Event Coordination: Organising centre events, key meetings, and staff activities.
  • Resource Management: Liaising with partner universities, managing IT support, and coordinating resources and equipment orders.
  • Travel and Accommodation: Arranging travel and accommodation for staff.
  • Financial Administration: Handling financial tasks, supplier liaison, invoice coding, and coordinating payroll processes.
  • Student Helpdesk Coordination: Overseeing the Student Helpdesk, ensuring smooth operations and process improvements.
  • General Administration: Supporting the Student Experience Team, assisting with inductions and arrivals, maintaining noticeboards, and fostering relationships with students and staff. 


ABOUT YOU 

  • Level 3 qualification (Desirable)
  • Experience in working with administrative processes in different parts of the organisation (Essential)
  • Experience of working with staff and students in an education environment (Desirable)
  • Excellent customer service skills (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel skills (Essential)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask (Essential)
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (Essential)
  • Knowledge of data management systems (Desirable)
  • Understanding of safeguarding (Desirable)
