Job description

Zachary Daniels are proud to be partnering a national service provider in their search for an Operations Director. If you are looking to drive innovation and engagement in a senior management role as a Operations Director within Facilities Management then this could be the role for you.

Based with a high profile national retailer contract this role requires someone who is heavily compliance focused and who has run multimillion turnover contracts or have led national facilities or maintenance teams directly for a retailer or managed FM contracts. This position will give you operational and strategic input to our clients high profile account with responsibility to drive and deliver exceptional facilities services and build a long term client relationship through a first class service.

This is a national role that will require regular travel

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure all maintenance services are delivered in line with agreed SLA's, meeting all statutory and legislative requirements.
  • To ensure that all activity complies with Health & Safety Policies.
  • Provide leadership to Divisional Operations Managers, National FM Managers and Sub Contract Manager, driving their performance through high challenge and high support style.
  • Driving KPI delivery and service level improvement.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to identify wider business opportunities and support their execution.
  • Lead the client relationship, at a senior level, to ensure delivery of SLA's and identify opportunities for profitable growth
  • Work with the client and account teams to identify opportunities and develop innovative solutions to improve efficiency, ensuring best value for money across all FM service lines.
  • Oversee in-house and outsourced resources in order to deliver an effective preventative maintenance programme and response to the reactive needs of the client.
  • Take ownership of the operational business plans, budgets and financial reporting to ensure profit is maximised.
  • Liaise with the client in regards to issues to ensure a consistent line of communication will improve the partnership.
  • Manage the overall delivery of objectives within the Business Strategy.
  • Work with commercial teams to review all current supplier contracts and commercial terms.
  • Effective and timely forecasting of financial performance.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience of managing a team of senior managers within a facilities management environment either client facing or in house for a retail business.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of strategic and commercial acumen
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, comfortable distilling complex issues into structured frameworks and tactical action plans;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
