Operations Director

Salary: up to £100,000 DOE + 25% bonus

Our Client:
Our Client is a global business within the Luxury Goods sector offering a range of innovative design products including bespoke and customisable pieces to both public and business retail.

The Role:
This role requires a dynamic, passionate and experienced leader, having managed teams of 50+ people in a manufacturing environment with a strong track record of coaching, mentoring and developing teams to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement ambitious strategic plans for growth and improved profitability of the business.
• Oversee the planning and scheduling for seven in-house production teams.
• Lead the new product development process from the Operational standpoint, delivering the new collections (working closely with the Creative Director) ensuring that the products are made and delivered to the highest 'brand’ standards and technically compliant standards, taking overall responsibility for product warranty and returns issues.
• Responsible for manufacturing costs, budgets and operations overheads
• Managing the supply chain of highly skilled artisan makers mainly based in the UK with responsibility for purchasing and inventory control
• Oversee logistics and shipping including a packing/despatch team and driving team. Ensuring efficient use of the on-site warehousing and packaging systems.
• Identify and lead improvement projects within the operations environment.
• Coach and develop team members to achieve full potential
• Play an active role in an ambitious directors’ team to support the growth and development of the business

Requirements:

• A people-orientated, collaborative leader with the ability to set clear expectations.
• Strong coaching and management skills
• Analytical, systematic and with experience leading projects
• Experienced in ERP systems, and knowledgeable in how to apply process/systems to support a niche supply and production environment.
• With experience of applying standards/compliance
• A good negotiator with eye for detail
• Energetic with a desire for excellence
• Passionate about sustainability and the environment
• Ideally with experience gained in a growing business making a custom, handmade product.
