Cognisant has been instructed to appoint an experienced, highly capable, Operations Director who is able to undertake a troubleshooting/stabilisation role on behalf of a well-funded SME developer, who require immediate support and leadership. Initially the role is to undertake a ‘deep dive’ of the projects and get back on track, however, the business is a strong, solvent and with plans to grow significantly.

Position Summary:

The Operations Director will lead on all operational aspects and be tasked with establishing robust systems and processes, developing the existing team, and recruiting new key members. Suitable candidates will have a broad development background, having delivered a number of projects, a well-rounded view, bringing the business together and drastically improving efficiency and outputs.

Skills & Experience Required

• Residential development experience within senior leadership roles (Operations Director, Development Director)
• Proven experience in managing and leading businesses through difficult periods
• Ideally a mix of experience gained within SME and PLC environments. (Someone who 'gets' SME but can bring process from corporate setting)
• Strong track record of managing several projects simultaneously
• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with a strong financial understanding
