The role of Operational Finance Analystis working for a leading, Birmingham-based, multimodal Freight Forwarding and Logistics organisation who specialise in retail, manufacturing and chemicals.
Duties will include:
- Identify and analyse financial status by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Improve financial status by monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
- Liaise with procurement to compare budgets vs. actuals at customer and trade levels.
- Review intermonth variances, costs, and open reserves.
- Establish and enforce policies for cost analysis, provide trends and forecasts, and recommend actions.
- Analyse and interpret data, make comparative analyses, and study proposed changes in methods and materials.
- Suggest best practices and efficiencies in the costing process.
- Develop automated accounting applications and coordinate information requirements.
- Assist the Operational Finance supervisor by communicating changes, ensuring smooth rollout of new tasks, writing new process standards, conducting data integrity checks, and updating rates on the intranet
- Experience in a similar is necessary
- Experience in the logistics sector is preferred but not necessary.
- 5 year checkable work history within the UK
