The opportunity
As an instructor on site, you’ll work as part of our Performance Improvement team and in this role, you’ll specifically be working on our Operations training modules. In partnership with the training programme owner and the Curriculum Review Committee (CRC) chairs, you’ll work to ensure our Operators and Operations Engineers’ initial and continuing training requirements are met, in line with Licence Condition 10.

We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069
- £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Training Group Head, you’ll work with the training team, the training programme owner and CRC chairs to provide management, oversight and delivery of your training programmes. You will also assist with other programmes as required, allowing for cross-department learning and a broadening of your skillset in other disciplines.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but aren’t limited to):
- Critical reviews of programme health
- Analysis of station performance issues and identifying training solutions
- Planning and delivering initial and continuing training
- Review of best practices on site and at other stations around our nuclear fleet.
Who you are
As a minimum, you’ll need an HNC (or level 4 equivalent) and although previous training experience is not essential, it could be an advantage. External education qualifications are also viewed favourably. Experience within Operations, Engineering (control room or plant operations), Environmental Safety, Investment Delivery, Simulators or with safety cases would be beneficial. The exact programme that you will be responsible for will depend on many factors, such as the experience mix within the team, station needs as our mission changes and demographic requirements as the team changes over time.
You’ll also receive any training required to achieve FCI (fleet certified instructor) status.
