Operations Manager

As an Operations Manager you will assume overall responsibility for stock management, distribution of goods, site health, safety, environment, and quality. You will collaborate with the Senior Operations Manager and the Operations Director to establish, manage, and monitor standards, processes, communications, KPIs, training, and systems, ensuring compliance with business requirements. Champion company values, driving initiatives for continuous improvement and supporting the development and growth of the business operation.
Reporting into the Senior Operations Manager, the role is an integral member of the Operational leadership team. You'll have full autonomy and responsibility to review the operation, develop and implement modern warehousing practices across the facility and it's working practices.
It's key for the Operations Manager to have proven leadership qualities that will mentor, coach and develop individuals that directly report into the post while empowering the rest of the teams to drive projects that improve operational and behavioural performance, while having key focus on H&S, Training, SOP's development and Disciplinary protocols.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a warehousing senior management role, be business and commercially minded and have a strong understanding of people development, business objectives and performance measures within a fast paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:
- Development & delivery of a new culture
- Managing and reporting on work in progress and physical stock movements
- Ensuring compliance with the Company's Policies and standards

Daily Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day Warehouse & Distribution operations
- Be responsible for up to 130 heads on site, managed through 4 direct reports
- Ensure the operation is running efficiently and tracking at or below an agreed budgeted cost level
- Take the lead for all H&S matters throughout the site
- Manage the inbound, pick and dispatch teams working across varied shift patterns
- Ensure Inventory damage / loss is kept to a minimum at all times
- Be responsible for performance development, performance improvement / challenges and HR related issues up to disciplinary and dismissal
- Manage and lead a culture of Continuous Improvement
- Undertake and recognise projects for process improvement within the Operation
- Be responsible for creating and implementing KPIS in all areas and align the operational teams
Experience required:
- Previous experience within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
- Proven track record in identifying change and shaping operations within an established long serving team
- Able to work with an established team and have the desire to create change initiatives to create a great culture
- Have experience leading change management to improve operational and behavioural performance
- Have experience managing shifts on Days, Nights, and Afters in excess of 100 operatives
- Managed budgets
- Experience of developing operational KPIs
- Have good written and verbal communication skills
