A chemical manufacturer based between Bradford/ Leeds, West Yorkshire is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of their higher-tier chemical operations. The newly appointed Operations Manager will assume responsibility for the smooth and efficient production of high-quality chemical products, while complying with all safety and environmental regulations. They will form part of the senior leadership team and drive strategic goals, innovation and objectives.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Manage and supervise the production, quality, health and safety, process and maintenance.
- Plan and coordinate the production schedules, budgets, and resources
- Monitor and optimise the performance, output, and quality of the chemical processes and equipment
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and in-process quality checks
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and projects
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or disruptions
- Liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, and regulators
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field
- Chartered status would be a distinct advantage.
- Extensive experience in operations management with the chemical sector or a similar high-hazard industry
- Knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and safety standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in a range of systems, including, Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- The correct right to work in the UK
- UK Driving licence
