Working within the Commodities and Foreign Exchange Middle Operations team, you will bring your skills as an experienced Metal logistics specialist to our team. You will be responsible for managing the logistics operations related to Precious and Base Metals, ensuring smooth and efficient movement of metals, adherence to regulations and a timely delivery to customers.

You will be able to operate effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment, partnering with the business and other core support areas in order to meet business demands and facilitate new business growth with a key focus on clients, risk, control and efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the transportation, storage, and delivery of metals traded in/out the LME and CME and maintain close communication with external stakeholders, including warehouses and transport providers, to ensure seamless logistics operations

  • Manage logistics processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and warehouse release instructions

  • Collaborate with Internal teams, such as traders, sales and numerous control groups across operations and insurance to ensure accurate scheduling and execution of logistics operations and work towards the shared goal of risk mitigation and business facilitation

  • Ensure compliance with LME regulations, including documentation requirements, metal handling procedures, and reporting as well as perform control assessments on 3rd party logistics provided and present findings to internal control groups

  • Analyse logistics data and metrics to identify areas for improvements and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce cost

  • Participate in the ongoing development of the team processes and procedures in order to support this developing business

Your skills and experience

  • Demonstrable experience within the LME Logistics function with exposure to Physical and warrant movements

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and proven experience in logistics operations.

  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial deal terms, title transfer documents and Delivery Terms

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

  • Aptitude for building relationships both inside and outside of the firm and ability to communicate effectively with a wide array of people with varying product knowledge
