Job description

Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors as well as local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years.

The Role: The requirements of this role are to manage a multifunctional Warehouse team in the planning, picking, packing of customer orders in timely and accurate manner and ensure a high level of customer service is achieved. Communicate across all levels of the business ensuring continuity of detailed information to all stakeholders within the Polypipe. Complete key KPI’s in order to measure the performance of the team.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, weekly rotating shifts covering 6:00am-2:00pm & 2:00pm-10:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To efficiently manage the day to day running of the Warehouse shift team members in the processing of all customer orders using the Voice Recognition System
  • Ensure that a shift hand over is carried out on a daily basis with other Operational Leaders and Co-Ordinators
  • Effectively communicate operational requirements to all team members
  • Support the achievement and continuous improvement of OTIF and reduce RMA’s
  • Monitor team performance and act upon/document
  • Provide a development and training plan for all members of the team through the PDR process, ensuring regular reviews are conducted
  • Motivate and develop personnel in order to maximise their potential and ensure that departmental and company goals are understood and met
  • Ensure any incidents and accidents are reported, recorded and Investigated using the appropriate processes, documents using Alcumus
  • Complete Audits in a timely manner
  • Successful completion of appropriate and agreed learning and development e.g. LMS ,training courses or qualifications etc. as set out in PDR
  • Complete IOSH – Managing Safety programme
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping within all warehouse areas

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and focus a team in order to realise objectives
  • Ability to monitor performance of individuals and processes and take appropriate action to maximise outputs
  • Ability to analyse processes, find and implement improvements including the design and documentation of new systems as well as training of operatives in new working methods
  • Computer literate - knowledge of Excel and Word essential
  • Good communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Understanding of all logistics processes and procedures
  • knowledge of WH module within IFS
  • Experience in the use of all MHE equipment
