Hours per week: 35 Monday to Friday, normal working hours

Basic DBS required for this role
An Operations Support Officer is required to work within a team to supply support to other team members and the manager, contacting customers, booking work in, carrying out administrative duties and working on the new scheduling system DRS. To also liaise with operatives and managers daily to ensure delivery of service and help to ensure that the Operations Section is providing a highly efficient, economic, safe, customer focused and high quality service to all clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of the Delivery Plan, the HRA Business Plan and the Homes Stock Maintenance Performance Management Plan.
- Assist in the development and implementation of service improvements with the objective of increasing effectiveness, efficiency and eliminating waste.
- Contribute to Construction Services achieving best value, including fundamental best value reviews and performance plans.
- Assist in the production of reports for Operational Managers on installation, repairs and maintenance, job costs.
- Ensure that financial regulations and standing orders are complied with.
- Assist in resolving queries and enquiries from tenants, clients, customers and stakeholders.
- Prepare correspondence relating to customers.
- Assist in the collation of information for incorporation into final accounts and valuations. Process material and equipment requisitions.
- Ensure that the maintenance and calibration of gas, and solid fuel CAT and testing equipment is carried out.
- Provide technical support on Capital works projects and Repairs and Maintenance.
- Provide administrative support for Tool Box Talks, including minute taking.

Qualifications:
- Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, OR ability to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar field.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Experience of working in a construction, engineering, maintenance or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of providing technical support to operational management, including an understanding of procedures used to improve service delivery.
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Substantial knowledge of the issues relating to the delivery of services within construction, repairs and maintenance.
- An awareness of financial regulations in relation to procurement rules.
Skills & Abilities:
- Willing to work outside normal office hours should the situation arise. Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service.
- Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to team working.
- Ability to travel as necessary to meet the needs of the post.
- Ability to prioritise own workload, working to deadlines to achieve targets.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and develop good working relationships with external and internal customers.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
