Optical Systems Engineer

An exciting opportunity for a Optical Systems Engineer in Torquayto join a global company that cover a broad range of functions in engineering and manufacturing.

The Optical Systems Engineer will be expected to design and develop optical and fibre-optic components, modules and subsystems. They will have an active involvement in prototype build & testing and exploit the company’s fibre optic and optoelectronic components to develop cutting-edge products.

Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience in fibre-optics, photonics and general optics
• Hands-on experience in design, construction and test of fibre-optic components, systems, or optoelectronic modules.
• Knowledge & experience in one or more of high power fibre lasers/fibre amplifiers
• Experience in the design and development of fibre-optic and free-space transmission systems (analogue, digital, coherent)
• Essential: Degree in Engineering or Physics
• Desired: PhD in a relevant field
