Order Picker

John Sheppard Butchers Ltd, is a successful 3rd generation family-owned central Bristol based, catering butcher looking for Order Pickers/packers to join our hardworking team based in St Werburghs, Bristol (BS2)

Applicants must be physically fit and motivated due to manual nature of the work. All protective clothing and on-site training will be provided.

Picking/Packing Shift Patterns

We currently operate on the below shift:

• 8am to Finish (approx. 5/6 pm) Monday to Friday.
• Extra hours available on Saturday mornings (when required).
• 1hr Lunch (unpaid)
• 2 x 15 min Tea Breaks (Paid)
• Initial 6-month probationary contract, leading to a full-time contract if expectations are met.

Job Description and requirements

• Responsible for accurately picking or packing Meat & Meat Products for customer orders into trays, bags, and boxes.
• Accurate reading of orders to ensure the customer receives the correct quantity/products
• Good communication skills
• Applicants must be physically fit for manual work
• Must be able to work as a part of a flexible team, follow instructions, and use initiative to achieve a common goal.
• Experience of working to deadlines in a fast-paced working environment
• Knowledge of basic food health and safety, batch coding and traceability (not a deal breaker)
• Good Level of spoken and written English is essential
• Consistent reliability and punctuality
