Job Title: Optical Support Technician
Location: Cambuslang, Glasgow
Reporting to: Lab Operations Manager
Salary: £23,860 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

The role of the Optical Support Technician is to provide essential support the spectacle manufacturing team. Playing a major part in the processing and ordering department.
Principle Accountabilities
- Provide support to the Order Processing Supervisor
- Be responsible for picking of frames and lenses to fulfil orders.
- Maintain stock levels and be conscious of low levels and the implications of such.
- Have a keen eye for high quality product.
- On occasion provide technical advice regarding orders
- Ensuring that Health & Safety procedures are followed.
- Covering in the dispatch department to cover holidays or absences. Duties would include:
- Checking in spectacles to the dispatch department
- Posting out glasses to our patients in a care home or their own home
- Picking a pre-defined delivery schedule 3 days In advance
- Additional Duties may be required from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Maths and English to National level 4 or 5 (or equivalent)
- Optical experience is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to Detail
- Ability to Maintain High Level of Accuracy for Long Periods of Time
- Time management and ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to follow instructions.
