REMOTE/HYBRID: This role is largely home/remote based, with a maximum travel expectation of 20%, project dependant and predominantly UK based travel
Rate: Depending on experience, range between £50-100 p/h (£400-£800 per day)

Job Purpose: The OSIPI/Data Historian Specialist is responsible for the configuration, administration, and maintenance of OSIsoft PI systems and associated data historian solutions. This role ensures the seamless collection, storage, and analysis of operational data to support business decision-making processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Configuration:
- Design and configure OSIsoft PI systems to meet the specific needs of the organization.
- Ensure optimal performance and reliability of the data historian infrastructure.
- Develop and document system architectures and data flow diagrams.
Data Collection and Integration:
- Develop strategies for data collection from various sources, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and other industrial automation systems.
- Integrate data historian solutions with other business systems and databases.
- Implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy.
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular system health checks and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data collection, storage, and retrieval.
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements as needed.
Data Management:
- Manage data historian databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
- Develop custom reports and dashboards to support data analysis and visualization needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Technical Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to end-users and stakeholders on data historian tools and best practices.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance user proficiency with OSIsoft PI systems.
- Collaborate with IT, operations, and engineering teams to address data-related issues and requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data historian technologies.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data integrity and availability.
