You’ll provide technical expertise to the secure development and delivery of Operational Technology (OT) networking assets into ET Substations, with a focus on cyber security and resilient communications.  Developing and configuring systems and networks from initial concept to final install, this will include applying cybersecurity and networking knowledge to test the concept, design the solution and support the delivery of the solution into substations. You’ll spend time working in our development lab at Drakelow substation as well as travelling to sites and suppliers where required.

 

You’ll provide knowledge and insight into securely developing and delivering OT systems and investigate opportunities for deploying new technology and improving existing systems.


In addition, you’ll provide the cyber-technical interface with Suppliers and customers on behalf of the business, supporting the development of solutions including liaison with 3rd party suppliers. 


This role is based in Drakelow, East Midlands and can be combined with hybrid working from home.
 

 

What you'll need

 

You’ll have a proven ability in designing L2 networks including ethernet, fibre, coupled with an appreciation of OT cyber security requirements and challenges.  You’ll also have an excellent understanding and working knowledge of complex distributed networks, including experience troubleshooting layer 2 & 3 networks.


A good understanding of IT cyber security, experience in OT, and complex IT administration or networking would all be an advantage, and you’ll ideally have CCNA certification or equivalent.


You’ll possess analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and experience in an operational environment would be beneficial.  


Self-motivated, with good communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll be educated to HNC level or have equivalent experience in cyber security & networking.

 

You’ll also need a UK Driving Licence.
