The Carers Health Team are a team of health professionals who aim to promote the health and wellbeing of carers. We are a free service provided by Sussex Community NHS Trust providing support for carers over the age of 18 registered with a West Sussex GP. We work directly with carers and will develop individual strategies for each carer with an aim to reduce the strain of coping with their caring role. We may, if it is necessary, also look at the health needs of the person who is being cared for. We work closely with other NHS specialist services, social & caring services and voluntary & community services and will link carers with these services when appropriate. We can provide information and advice on specific health conditions, as well as practical advice on the caring environment (safe lifting and handling, healthy eating, risk minimisation).
We will visit carers in their own home at a time to suit their needs.
We are seeking a conscientious, reliable and well organised person to join our friendly team supporting carers across West Sussex.
In this role you will provide administrative support to the Team Lead and the clinicians within the team alongside our CHT Coordinator.
Ideally this is a 30 hour per week role but consideration would be given to candidates who would prefer fewer hours.

You will need to work collaboratively with the team lead, clinical staff and the staff within the team. The role is based in our office at Bognor War Memorial Hospital and you will need to work from the the office every day, answering the phone and dealing with queries from carers and colleagues in health and social care.
The role includes the collection and accurate inputting of patient data into the electronic patient record system (S1), working with and supporting clinical staff with administration tasks, booking appointments, handling telephone and email enquiries, ordering equipment as well as other admin duties to support the team. You will receive support and supervision and the opportunity to develop skills relevant to the job role.
The following skills are essential to the role. Experience with databases such as SystmOne and/or be able to learn new IT systems easily. Competency with Microsoft systems and word processing. Excellent telephone manner and clear communication skills. Maintenance of strict confidentiality.
