Job description

This new and exciting role is within the Office of the Traffic Commissioner (OTC).

To thrive in this role, you have experience of analysing data, statistics and reports and can successfully provided recommendations to support decision making. You have experience and understanding of the function of courts and tribunals, and the application of legal principles and process.

You have experience of working with and contributing to a Quality Assurance framework. You can demonstrate an ability to draft operational guidance.

You have excellent communication skills and can positively engage with people at all levels. You enjoy influencing others to encourage departmental goals and strategy. You are someone who loves to work in collaboration with others, but can also work independently on occasions to meet the demand of varying tasks.

If not already held, there will be a development opportunity when in post to work towards a Quality Assurance Qualification.

Additional Information

Please note that there is a requirement to undertake regular travel, including overnight stays as part of this role.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement, for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 20 hours per week.

This role can be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Caernarfon, Cambridge, Eastbourne, Edinburgh, Golborne or Leeds. Where your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our current expectation is that you will spend a minimum 40% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards the 40%. Please be aware there is a Civil Service wide expectation to increase office attendance to 60% and we are working on our implementation plan.
