Role Summary
You will be part of Pfizer's dynamic Market Access [Access & Value UK] team and will have the important role of managing the research studies for pre-marketed medicines. Alongside our Health Technology Assessment (HTA) team, you will evaluate the economic value of products and therapies with the clinical and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and real-world evidence (RWE) studies. You will lead new studies that will provide key RWE for reimbursement and access strategies with a patient-centric lens. You will work with product reimbursement and clinical research teams to improve their strategies and programs.
Role responsibilities
- Develop thorough evidence gap analyses and corresponding data strategies (i.e. solutions for addressing gaps) for complex assets across different therapy areas by working closely with Access & Value and Medical at local and Global levels, ensuring that an integrated evidence plan is developed for our medicines and vaccines.
- Work with Outcomes Research experts in O&E to identify and support patient-centred study requirements for reimbursement.
- Develop business cases that clearly and succinctly convey the impact of evidence generation studies on reimbursement and access outcomes.
- Lead RWE projects to a high-standard, end-to-end from conceptualisation to dissemination including management of vendors or internal teams to conduct RWE projects, management of internal processes to ensure compliance with SOPs and ABPI Code of Conduct where relevant.
- Maintain close working relationships with cross-functional teams assigned to an asset to ensure evidence plans remain strategic for the business, keep them updated with evolutions in relevant evidence from across the business and report on progress with active studies.
- Work with the HTA managers to develop HTA dossiers that leverage the best-fit evidence that conveys the patient-centred unmet need narrative and that optimises the applicability and outputs of the cost-effectiveness model in a UK setting.
- Work with Asset & Access colleagues in Access & Value UK to understand National Health Service needs and drivers for access, particularly as it relates to evidence needs.
- Maintain and develop a working knowledge of advancements in UK datasets, analytical platforms and RWE methods and that can be utilised to accelerate or enhance evidence generation.
- Lead a cutting-edge approach to RWE policy, methods and processes to become thought leaders within the biopharmaceutical sphere.
- Source or provide appropriate training to develop skills and talent in RWE methodology.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Doctoral degree or relevant experience across industry and/or consultancy in RWE and HTA/market access
- Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating and developing RWE for inclusion in HTA, reimbursement, and access solutions.
- Practical experience in performing observational research, in particular writing/reviewing study protocols and analysis plans, in any setting including life-sciences company, research organization, academic institution or governmental agency.
- Working knowledge of health economics and its application to health economic modelling/analyses
- Understanding of global drug development
- Understanding of outcomes research
- Strong project management, strategic and analytic skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers stakeholders.
