The GROWS project works with local schools and colleges to provide a range of activities and events to ensure young people are informed about potential educational options and to encourage ambition to study at university-level (higher education). The project is currently funded until July 2024, however with further funding indicated for an additional year. The Outreach Support Officer is a key role for the team, who will support the team to deliver engaging presentations, workshops, activities and experiences to a range of secondary aged pupils and parents to raise aspiration and knowledge about higher education. As well as delivering sessions, the role holder will also work closely with the Widening Participation Officers to assist in planning and organising a range of interesting events from a CSI experience to an on-campus day for a whole year group. This role would suit someone who loves being in front of an audience, is a confident and enthusiastic presenter, who can problem solve and think on their feet, can engage teenage audiences and has an interest in social mobility. You’ll need great IT skills especially using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. You’ll join a supportive but busy team where you can gain valuable experiences in a structured development plan. GROWS is a consortium of higher education providers within Gloucestershire, led by the University of Gloucestershire. GROWS deliver the Office for Students (OfS) Uni Connect Programme locally in Gloucestershire. The project is funded by OfS for the current period to July 2024, with further funding indicated for an additional academic year.
