We have been asked to support the recruitment of an Outreach Support Worker for an immediate start.
The school is a multi-site Special School and Alternative Provision for children who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) developmental needs and / or medical needs. Its curriculum is designed to meet the needs of pupils with diverse needs who are unable to attend mainstream school. You will need to have a range of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
This role is based out of one of their sites, specialising in SEMH, across Years 10-11. Due to the nature of this role you will need to have access to your own vehicle, as you will also be supporting a group of students not currently coming into school, so doing home visits (mileage expenses will be paid by the school).
Your Role:
- Supporting a learner on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
- You will be assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities

- The ability to re-engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
- To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
