Position Summary

Here at Nestlé we are currently recruiting for a focused individual to join our Finance function within our Planning and Reporting team, as a Overheads Analyst. The role is responsible for the control and forecasting of our overhead costs, across a number of areas for our businesses. This really is a great opportunity for somebody looking to continue to develop their finance experience whilst working with a wide range of stakeholders across all of our UK&I businesses. As the Planning and Reporting team sits across both our Crawley and York offices, we are happy to consider applications that could work in either of these locations.

Nestlé UK & Ireland is a subsidiary of Nestlé SA, the world’s largest food and beverage company. Nestlé's purpose is enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future. We want to help shape a better and healthier world. We also want to inspire people to live healthier lives. This is how we contribute to society while ensuring the long-term success of our company.

A day in the life of an Overheads Analyst

You’ll partner closely with category and corporate cost centre heads providing support and challenge when preparing quarterly forecasts for their areas. You’ll pro-actively monitor actual vs planned performance, highlighting any risks and opportunities for the areas you support. You’ll deliver value adding insights, providing regular reports to a whole host of stakeholders including the cost centre head, senior leadership team, corporate controller, and the Head of Finance & Control, ensuring there is clear visibility of our overhead budgeting position across the UK&I market.

You’ll also:

  • Drive, support and co-ordinate the monthly overhead budgeting forecast across the market through continuous reviews. During this process, you’ll look to streamline and improve the process ensuring it’s as efficient as it possibly can be.

  • Be responsible for co-ordinating the budget updates for the corporate functions and categories you collaborate with, offering challenge to the numbers as and when necessary.

  • Validate the quarterly model, ensuring detailed commentary is given to the business, explaining any movements in the cost centre budgets and allocations.

  • Own the annual cost centre customer reviews and ensure the business is supported with queries and explanations of changes that have happened.

  • Ensure the Market is compliant with costing standards set by the Centre whilst driving awareness to the cost centre heads of any changes to practices.

  • Support the Planning & Reporting team where necessary in the production of overhead budgeting information for key business meetings in the annual reporting calendar and in the monthly FIT tool upload.

  • Be a key player in identifying and driving improvements in the end-to-end cost centre process, providing support and training to cost centre heads where needed.

What will make you successful

To be successful in this role you will be a part or fully qualified Accountant with a real passion to work across a whole host of stakeholder groups, whether that be finance or other areas of the business. Being able to build strong working relationships that allow you to challenge your areas’ thinking whilst developing their capability in budget development and management is essential. It’s a given that you will have strong MS Excel knowledge, fantastic attention to detail and great communication skills, allowing you to work across a wide range of stakeholders. And finally, you’ll thrive in an environment that is often challenging, understanding how to navigate yourself and stakeholders to positive solutions.

What you need to know

What can we offer in return? Great benefits you’d expect from a business the size of Nestlé – in the shape of a competitive salary and benefits package, bonus scheme, flexible working scheme, 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays plus flex leave, pension scheme and a real focus on personal development and growth.

The closing date for this role is the 28th March 2024.
