Packaging Technician, R&D, Molton Brown

The RoleIn this role, you will be supporting the technical packaging team to ensure all components being developed will perform to the required standards to meet company and customer requirements by carrying out a number of tests to ensure they perform. You will work with the technologist to develop the testing plan for each new project and execute this to ensure it is actioned in a timely manner.

What You Will Do

Support the technologist, to help develop and then follow test plan for all new items and ensure that these are carried out in a timely manner ensuring any issues are dealt with and resolved.

• Help to develop clear specification & performance criteria. Ensure that the product is not only fit for purpose to MB/Kao standards but also will perform to customer expectations.
• Ensure the lab is kept in order and correct equipment is accessible and manage any maintenance required.
• Support team to ensure all key development and productions standards are established, shared and stored in an accessible / organized way with a clear stock process.
• Ensure storage areas are managed and kept tidy and within Health and Safety regulations.
• Ensure precise records are maintained and samples no longer required are cleared away.
• Look for ways to 'reduce, reuse, recycle’ where possible, within our area and for projects. Where possible look out and lead specific ESG & innovation ideas for new components, and product ideas.
• Manage all support tasks as an employee keeping holiday and expenses records up to date as well as performance documents. This approach ensures clarity on assigned tasks, fostering goal achievement within your role.
• Support the departments on the 'ways of working’ procedures, ensure clear methods are known and understood areas you work within.

What You Need

• A levels / Degree - in technical or science subjects.
• Experience of working in a laboratory and working through testing methods.
• Good communications skills, able to work in cross functional teams.
• Strong attention for detail & Tenacious will find a way!
• Proactive / Self starter
• Excellent time management
• Any knowledge of material science, plastics, paper etc.
• Able to autonomous and work through their list of tasks.
• An understanding of the development steps required to take a product from a concept to stock in store and can learn how to support the team at key validation points.
• Risk mitigation skills, when something goes wrong what could be next options.
• Methodical and organized and happy to work to tight deadlines when needed.
• Good people skills and management skills.
• Excellent team player capable of working with a diverse group of people focused on delivery.
• Ability to be flexible and solution led to enable NPD's to reach the market on time in full.
