We have a fantastic opportunity for a Painter/Decorator to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMP Wealstun, Wetherby, LS23 7AZ. This role is based on-site. Monday to Friday 39 hours a week.
There may be a need to work some weekends, but this would be on a rota basis.
At Amey, we're supporting our justice client, His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities\' management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

Your new role
* Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
* Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
* Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directives.
* This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
* Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved throughout the contract.
What makes this role unique is work you will ensure all work is carried out to the highest safety standards, sometimes working alongside and supervising the work of prisoners. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
What you\'ll need to succeed
* Must be a fully qualified Painter.
* Previous relevant work related experience.
* Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
* Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
Ideally, you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating. However, we will consider applications if you have NVQ level 2. In addition to this, it would be desirable if you are comfortable working alongside prisoners and had experience of sharing best practice with others to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
