SalaryNorth Kelsey Parish Council has a vacancy for a Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).
A part time Clerk/RFO is required for 8 hours per week. This role will be home-based with attendance required at Parish Council meetings.
The Parish Council’s responsibilities include management of the cemetery, grass cutting, village maintenance and parks. The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated and efficient.
The role;
• Is able to attend council meetings at North Kelsey Village Hall (2nd Tuesday of every month).
• Has excellent communication and people skills, as you will need to liaise with Councillors, District and County Council representatives, members of the public and third-party organisations both written and verbally.
• Has a proven record of bookkeeping and budget planning.
• Is well organised and able to meet deadlines.
• Is proficient with IT including website updates.
• Is willing to undertake any other duties as may be reasonable required from time to time. You will be required to attend additional evening or daytime meetings.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of local government procedures, finance and law.
• A willingness to attend relevant LALC Clerk training courses and/or seminars on the work and role of the Clerk as required by the Council.
• Ideally, the successful candidate will be a qualified Clerk. For applicants not Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualified, there may be an opportunity to access the CiLCa training.
The post is subject to a 6 months probationary period. Salary dependant on experiences and in accordance with NJC National Pay Scales SCP 14-18 (£14.21 - £15.21 per hour).
