The Organisation
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.
We are now looking for a Park Officer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 36 hours per week. Where necessary, there may be requirements for weekend and evening working to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

The Role
As a Park Officer, you will support the park management team in the day-to-day running of St. James’s Park and the Green Park.
You’ll act in a key support capacity across horticulture, works, events, health & safety and sustainability, supervising contractors, monitoring scheduled and unscheduled contract work and managing budgets and payments.
Assisting the Park and Events Team, you’ll oversee event set up and take down, and work with the Estates Team to ensure adherence with licences and permits.
Additionally, you will:
- Assist with some one-off park projects
- Respond to correspondence and enquiries
- Assist with updating signage and interpretive materials
- Support the delivery of conservation, biodiversity and sustainability initiatives
- Support education and volunteer initiatives
About You
To be considered as a Park Officer, you will need:
- Experience of landscape, amenity or park operations and/or management
- Knowledge of health and safety principles
- A basic understanding of relevant legislation, best practice and technical matters relating to landscape, parks, horticulture or heritage
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent time management skills
- A Level 2 qualification, or equivalent experience, in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Heritage or Conservation
- A full, valid driving licence
