With a detailed training programme and a knowledgeable Head of Management Accountants who you will work closely with, the opportunity to learn and progress is offered here for someone seeking a challenging yet rewarding role. Given the small nature of the Finance team the remit of work and tasks required within this role will be varied giving you an amazing all round skillset making you a very knowledgeable and experienced finance professional.
The main duties for this Assistant Management Accountant are:
- Preparing the monthly management accounts for month end and year end, alongside producing monthly forecasting and budgeting, ensuring cashflow is up to date and correct. Variances also completed and explained.
- Business partnering with key internal and external stakeholders helping run through budgets and forecasts and offering support and advice where needed to keep the business managers on track and confident in their position and methodologies.
- Preparing reports and presentations for Senior management team and governors. Producing statutory returns.
- Ensuring bank reconciliations are completed, journals are entered including prepayments, accruals and accrued and deferred income.
The role will be based in Central London. You will be required to work a minimum of 3 days (you can work more if you wish) with office attendance required once a week. A successful candidate will be:
- An actively studying and part qualified Accountant ACCA/CIMA. Please do not apply if you are not actively studying or are not at least part qualified.
- Someone who has assisted with producing the monthly management accounts and producing budgets, forecasts and variances.
- Able to act well under pressure - working well on their own or within a team.
- Comfortable with Excel - having the ability to produce pivot tables and Vlookups and discuss findings to key stakeholders and the senior management team.
- A person who has great attention to detail with a self motivating character keen to work hard and become a value adding member of the finance team.
- Someone who has SORP or housing experience (Social or Private) when producing monthly management accounts.
Please note the salary will of course be pro rata'd to reflect the Part Time hours. Depending on how many days you wish to work, will determine what the salary would be.
