Our client is the leading voice in Education for Arts, Crafts and Design in the UK. They embrace inclusivity, diversity and equality and work closely with their members to improve inclusivity at work.
They are now looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / administrator to join their team. This position can be based fully remote or hybrid, with one day per week in the office based near Bath. The hours are 21 hours per week ideally spread over 5 days although you may occasionally work outside of these core hours in return for time off in lieu.
Key Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:
- Managing payroll and pensions for the small team
- Maintaining ledgers and financial records
- Providing analytical and technical support
- Processing invoices and payments using Quickbooks
- Managing credit control and accounts
- Completing and submitting tax returns and liaising with HMRC
- Liaising with accountants for end of year reporting
- Preparing quarterly reports for the General Secretary ad council
- General office management including insurance renewals, administration, arranging PAT and fire testing and ensuring GDPR compliance
Desired attributes and qualities
- Previous experience in financial administration
- Experience of payroll and pensions
- Knowledge of data protection policies
- You should have an industry recognised qualification
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Happy to work independently
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong analytical and IT skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Quickbooks
- An interest in working within the third sector and arts
